This Tamang Heritage Trek of 14 days is named after the indigenous Tamang people of Langtang region. It is easily accessible from Kathmandu and we can experience the unexplored tradition and culture of Langtang region. During the trekking, we will have opportunity to get familiarized with the Tamang people living close to the mountains. Walking through the jungles of flora, fauna and meadows, the trail will take us to the settlement of Tamang people and get chance to spend some moments with the local people.
Day 01 : Arrive Kathmandu
Day 02 : Sightseeing in Kathmandu
Day 03 : Kathamandu on drive to Syabrubesi (1450m)
Approximate duration: 6-7hours
Syabrubesi is the entry point of Langtang region from our trekking starts. We will get there on reserved vehicle driving for 6-7 hours. During our driving, we can have beautiful view of Ganesh himal and passing through Dhunche, we will arrive Syabrubesi for our night stay.
Day 04 : Syabrubesi- Gatlang (2238m)
Approximate duration: 5 hrs
On this first day of trekking, we will start our journey with the ascending for about one and half hour to reach the view point. Ganesh Himal, Gasaikunda and Goljang valley can be seen beautifully from this point. Now, our descending starts, which will take us to Goljang valley within half an hour. From this valley, we will walk for additional three hours and then, we reach our destination – Gatlang to spend our night. It is a beautiful settlement of Tamang people of Langtang.
Day 05 : Gatlang - Tatopani (2607m)
Approximate duration: 5-6 hrs
This is the second day of trekking and it starts with descending to reach a destination called Thangbuche situated near Chilime village. After passing dam of Chilime Hydropower, we will be at Tatopani. It means hot water and we can experience with natural hot springs to make us fresh and healthy.
Day 06 : Tatopani -Thuman (2338m)
Approximate duration: 7-8 hrs.
We will trek through the woodlands and will be at another village of Tamang- Brimadang. Again, we will hike upwards to reach another place to have outstanding view of Langtang, ganesh Himal, Sanjen and Kerung. This place is called Nagthali and from this place, we will descend to arrive Thuman- a village of Tamang people.
Day 07 : Thuman- Briddim (2229m)
Approximate duration: 4-6 hours
Today's destination to spend our night is Briddim, which is a nice village nestled on the lap of Langtang peak. This village has the houses built by the stones and is greatly influenced by Tibetan language and culture. In order to reach this village, we will walk from Thuman on the flat ground and then descend until we reach Timure. We still continue our walking and finally, we will be at Briddim. If interested and have time, then we can do a short visit to Dukchu Monastery.
Day 08 : Briddim- Syabrubesi (1450m)
Approximate duration: 4-5 hours
On the last day of our trekking, we will walk for about 5 hours from Briddim to reach Syabrubesi. We will stay here to spend our night.
Day 09 : Syabrubesi – Kathamndu ( on drive)
After doing breakfast, we can do short visit to the local market and get ready for 7 hour drive to Kathmandu.
Day 10 : Departure

- Lunch and dinner in Kathmandu and/or Pokhara
- Extra night accommodation in Kathmandu and Pokhara in case of early arrival, late departure, and early return from the mountain (due to any reason) than the scheduled itinerary
- Travel and rescue insurance(Should be covered helicopter evacuation incase of problem on the trek and medical also)
- Personal expenses (phone calls, laundry, bar bills, battery recharge, extra porters, bottle or boiled water, shower, etc.)
- Tips for guide(s), porter(s) and driver(s)
