It is one of the popular treks of Langtang region, which involves an interesting journey to the Tamang village with the outstanding view of mountains of this region. The total 17 day trek starts from Kathmandu and heads to Langtang followed by the visit of Kyanjin Gumba and Gosaikunda with the excellent view of mountains- Langtang Lirung. Gosaikunda is considered as the sacred place for the followers of Buddhism and Hinduism. In this package, our trek will also continue towards Helambu valley. We will go to the altitude of 3800m, which is called Ama Yangri from where we can see Shishapangma and Langtang ranges very closely.
Day 01 : Arrive Kathmandu
Day 02 : Sightseeing in Kathmandu
Day 03 : Kathamandu on drive to Syabrubesi (1450m)
Approximate duration: 6-7hours
Syabrubesi is the entry point of Langtang region from our trekking starts. We will get there on reserved vehicle driving for 6-7 hours. During our driving, we can have beautiful view of Ganesh himal and passing through Dhunche, we will arrive Syabrubesi for our night stay.
Day 04 : Syabrubesi- Lama Hotel (2500 Meters)
Approximate duration: 5 Hrs
We will start our trekking by crossing Bhote Koshi river and follow Langtang Khola. The trial gradually goes up to Bamboo (1960m) and continue our trekking to reach Ramche ( 2400m), which is located at the bank of Langtang khola. We will keep on walking by keeping our eye on pandas, monkeys and bears and finally we arrive at Lama hotel.
Day 05 : Mundu - Langtang village ( 3307m)
Approximate duration: 6-7 hours
Our ascending continues from Lama hotel enjoying the beautiful landscape and waterfalls. Then, we will reach Ghoda Tabela which is green meadows and from this spot, we can have outstanding view of mountains of Langtang ranges. Our walking continues, the valley starts to widen and will go through settlement used by the herders. We can also see monastery, which was damaged in the earthquake of 2015 and then finally we arrive Mundu for our night stay.
Day 06 : Mundu- Kyangjin Gompa ( 3798m)
Approximate duration: 4-5 hours
Our next destination is Khangjin Gompa- the main monastery of this region. After finishing breakfast, we will start our trekking through water mills, prayer wheels, chortens and can also have look on the rocks printed with chant of Buddhism found on the route. We will be Kyangjing Gompa after our short trek and we can use our time to explore culture, tradition related with Buddhism. Additionally, the splending view of our surrounding mountains makes fresh and vibrant.
Day 07 : Visit of Kyangjin Gompa
We can use this day as an opportunity to explore around the Kyangjin Gompa. Most the of trekker compare Kyanjin Gompa with Gorak Shep of Everest region. Visit of the cheese factory and monastery may be our favorite pastime on this day. Not only this, but just walking to have superb view of mountains- Langtang Lirung and if possible, we can attempt to ascend Kyangjin Ri ( 4350m). The beauty of the panorama of Langtang Himalayan range- Langtang Lirung, Yala peak, Langtang II, just behind the village is just breath taking and exceptional, which is hard to explain in words.
Day 08 : Kyangjin Gompa - Lama Hotel ( 2500m)
Approximate duration: 6-7 hours
Now, we will head back to Lama hotel walking down for 6-7 hours with the excellent view of mountains, which we may miss during our ascending towards Kyangjin Gompa. While trekking downhill, we will go through woodlands and villages of Tamang people experiencing their culture values and tradition.
Day 09 : Lama Hotel-Thulo Syabru ( 2250m)
Approximate duration: 5-6 hours
We have to walk about 6 hours to reach Thulp Syabru for our night stay, therefore, we will start our day by climbing up to the human settlement called Rimche village. Then we will descend by walking on the banks of Langtang Khola and continue our trekking to Bamboo. The trail is easily walkable and we again ascend to reach Thulo Syabru. On the trek, we can see red pandas, monkeys and different species of birds with the majestic vies of Langtang Himal, Ganesh Himal and other mountain ranges.
Day 10 : Thulo Syabru- Shin Gompa (3250m)
Approximate duration: 3-4 hours
We will follow the steep path that takes us to Foprang Danda (3200m) through Dursahang ( 2660m) by enjoying the beautiful view of Langtang Himal, Ganesh Himal, Tibetan mountain, Hemlock and forests. After walking for a short time on the flat ground, then we will reach at Shin Gomba. There is a very famous yak cheese factory and we can visit it along with a Buddhist monastery. Besides this, the panoramic view of mountain ranges around us takes our breathe and refresh us from the tiredness that we felt during our trekking.
Day 11 : Shin Gomba-Gosaikunda (4300 Meters)
Approximate duration: 5 Hrs.
Gosaikunda is one of the famous lakes of Nepal and is taken as a sacred place for the followers of Buddhim and Hinduism. While starting our direction towards this lake from Shin Gomba, we steadily climb up the trail and it will lead us to Lauribinayak. During our trek to Gosaikunda, we will see the ranges of Manaslu and Ganesh Himal, Tibetan peaks and Langtang Lirung. If the weather is clear, then we can even see Annapurna ranges. Going through the high pasture and few huts, then we can see Gosaikunda lake, which has about dozen lakes. Among them, Saraswatikunda, Bhairabkunda and Gosaikunda are popularly known. There is a belief among the followers that it was created by Lord Shiva in order to quench his thirst caused due to the swallowing of poison.
Day 12 : Gosaikunda – Ghopte (3430m)
Approximate duration: 6 hours
On this day, we will walk on the rough trail and going through four small lakes, we will be at Laurebina La ( 4610m). It is the maximum altitude we reach during this trekking. If we look back, Mt. Manaslu, Lantang Lirung and Ganesh Himal can be seen splendidly. After then, we descend steeply to head our next destination i.e. Ghopte.
Day 13 : Ghopte - Kutumsang ( 2440m)
Approximate duration: 6 hrs
Our next destination is Kutumsang, which will take about 6 hours to reach. We start our trek from Ghopte through the forest and within 2 hours of trekking in slope upward, we will be Thadepati. Then, we will descend until we reach Kutumsang. We can find many lodges, hotels on the route with the enjoyable mountain views and local culture.
Day 14 : Kutumsang - Chisopani (2110 Meters)
Approximate duration: 6 hrs.
We will do pleasurable walking from Kutumsang to Patti Bhanjyang and it continues until we reach Chisopani.
Day 15 : Chisopani - Sundarijal and Drive to Kathmandu
Approximate duration: 4 Hrs
Trek and 90 mins drive Today we trek down to Sundarijal and drive back to Kathmandu.
